Let It Shine
The soul of a child has a bright shining light.
The light of sweet Jesus un-tarnished by fright.
The soul of a child so pure and innocent.
The sins of our world, a child knows not.
The light of sweet Jesus shines through their smile.
The warmth of his love dwells blissful for miles.
The light shines bright in a spirit of happiness
Where love and security is the foundation of home.
The light shines bright in the pit of their soul
Where nothing is ugly in a picture-perfect world.
A fairy tale life and living a dream is reality come true
In the heart of the innocence, where all children live.
The soul of a child with love and protection
Will bloom in the light by God's delicate perfection.
The light shines bright in God's beautiful garden
Where the seed of His children soaks in full rays of sunshine.
He gives love and affection with plenty of nutrition
To every seed He planted.
The light shines bright with special care
That was prepared and delivered
Straight from God's golden kingdom of Heaven.
A glow of innocence in the eyes of a child
Can calm the madness in a beast gone wild.

A pretty little poem. My wedding gift from Heaven. I wanted something to be proud of with my maiden name, Dixon.
My husband and I were married on the Fourth of July, 2005. "Let It Shine" was a poem by accident on June 25, 2005.
It was the last thing I wrote as Mary Jane Dixon. We are now Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wayne and Mary Jane Metzler.

Satan's Playground
Beneath the world of God's holy ground,
Satan built his miserable playground.
He drilled his pit holes along our path
In effort to set plenty of traps.
A dark lonely world in the depths of Hell;
Satan is a demon always on the prowl.
Sweet little children are Satan's prey;
Sweet pure innocence out on the bay.
Hush little baby don't you cry,
Satan's goanna sing you a lullaby.
A lost black world of sorrow and sin,
The children will find in Satan's den.
His merry-go-round will drive them insane--
Full of violence, sickness, drugs and pain.
The swings hang low over hot lava;
The raging fire is Satan's java.
A fire burning slide awaits for a claim;
Satan will laugh at a child in flames.
Satan is jealous of the sweet children of God;
He was cast out of Heaven forbidden to return.
Satan will do anything to steal you from above;
Protect yourself and the children that you love.

Happy In Jesus
Sweet is the little girl; with a heart full of love;
Blessings rain down; from the heavens above.
Skipping and singing; in praise for a mile;
Until inward she feels; from Jesus; a smile.
Happy is the little girl; who loves to pray;
Mercy and goodness; will light her way.
Fun is the little girl; in spirit and truth;
Joy was dancing; when they pulled her tooth.
Good is the little girl; who aims to please;
Ringing her glory bound; while on her knees.
A friend she has in Jesus; the only one indeed;
The world outside in pieces; and full of rotten seed.
A path laid out before her; a hand to lead her through;
One with all the answers; when she doesn’t have a clue.
Life so beautiful; Love so bright;
Jesus is her shinning light.
Two as one; in every walk;
Her spirit giggles; when they talk.
A friend to sing; a friend to cling;
A friend more precious; than a diamond ring.
Jesus I love you; Jesus I thank you;
She cries in weep; while still asleep.
I wanted to write a happy Jesus poem for my two little granddaughters Angelina and Lindsey.
So my little girl spirit came out and wrote the poem about her and Jesus.
This poem is currently in the publication process as of October 26, 2010

Granny Always Said
The morals of a simple life we shall live
The reality of simplicity is learn to forgive
Help your neighbor like your brother when in need
A helping hand without greed will help you succeed
Be civilized and proper and don’t be a bother
Earn every dollar and come when I holler
Do the chores and your studies before you play
Be nice to all the other kids every single day
In lack of appreciation for your sense of humor
Taint funny McGee is not just a rumor
Do your very best in everything you do
A merit will hang in heaven just for you
Never tell a lie and don’t do drugs
Never talk back or hold a grudge
Study and learn then hand it back down
Help one achieve that acts like a clown
A strong foundation in every generation
Is family and unity of God and nation
Choose your friends wisely a path you must pave
Trouble makers are the takers their crimes you will pay
Regret and guilt is heavy and it lumps like clay
Your sins will be forgiven when you kneel and pray
Keep your word and stand your ground
Be a friend and utter (complain) no sound
Always do unto others better than yourself
Never place God on your shelf

I Give Myself To God
I finally decided to be loyal to God
True and dedicated with all my heart
Sin and bad habits I want to break
No more than five a piece of cake
I took a hard look at the person within
I found more than five problems in sin
The longer I looked the more I found
My shame and embarrassment overwhelmed
I was good girl by nature turned bad girl by sin
Suffering in the misery of the life that I’m in
I made a mental list of all my problems to fix
The easy tasks first save the tough for last
The demons of my past haunt me in temptation
I struggle to fight against the dark life of Satan
I never dreamed this person could be me
Where is the good girl that others claim to see?
The truth in my facts as I rummage thru my trash
Proved failure after failure scattered in my past
Many bad habits too terrible for me to say
Became the way of life for me in my everyday
My list is down to three the toughest of them all
God is very proud of me even when I fall
I have been so close to God’s golden sunshine
I felt his warm loving touch for the very first time
A peace so calm that my spirit grew strong
The presence of my Lord has been gone to long
Just a little taste of what he wants for me
My first time moment happy as can be

Hear Kitty Kitty
Janie was a little girl, sitting on a log.
Staring at the garden thru the morning fog.
A cute little kitty, peeped out to say hello,
She had a secret tunnel, in the log below.
Janie loved the kitty and fed her every day.
She named her kitty Daisy. They loved to run and play.
The other kids would come around, but if they came to close,
Daisy would turn her back to them, lift her tail and pose.
Janie wanted Daisy, to sleep with her at night.
Grannie told Janie, when pigs can fly a kite.
Janie was a sweet girl and asked her Grannie again,
Grannie spoke in her Final Voice, That skunk will never come in.
Janie was upset with her and couldn’t wonder why?
Grannie tried to bribe her with, a big piece of pie.
Tippy was the inside pet, Janie said no fair,
A yappy, ugly, hairless Chihuahua, for all of us to bear.
Tippy ran after Daisy one night, but never did again.
A tomato bath, a smell that will last, a dog that can’t come in.
Janie knows why and eats her pie, and Daisy sleeps out at night.

City Slick and the Hillbilly Way
My husband took a trip he would like to forget
The country folk in Utah don’t know city slick
Chores at sunrise that take all day
Boots on blisters to shovel the hay
Chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys
Peacocks and roosters are very perky
Goats, horses, dogs and cats
The lama called Goober is a brat
A cow called dinner, the mama horse took in
Three big freezers say rid him of his skin
Hillbilly meat is killed, skinned and fried
Pull up a seat, shut up and eat; have no pride
Chop the wood, mow the grass
Fix the tractor and harness the ass
Oh the joy of being, a city slicker farm boy
The hillbilly way, on dirt made of clay
The days he had off he spent city slicker lost
Driving the dirt roads at hillbilly cost
Homebound for Texas he was on his way
Happy is the city slicker with no more hay
